Brazil prosecutors demand fine for Google unit

Brazilian prosecutors said Wednesday they have filed a petition with a local court that could lead to heavy fines for a social networking service run by U.S.-based Internet services provider Google.
In a statement, the Sao Paulo-based prosecutors said: "Google's Brazilian management has refused to turn over information about abusive groups using Google's Orkut social networking site." Such groups include neo-Nazis and purveyors of child pornography, according to the prosecutors.
